Medieval hortus conclusus pots idea
t is a simple project based on a selection of aromatic and dyes plants, belonging to the medieval herbal tradition. They are placed in a rectangular earthenware pots within the perimeter of what constituted the Capitular Room (now without roof) of the Abbey of Sant’Antimo.
Each plant has a recognition tag where the botanic name and properties are reported.

Aiming to the creation of a proper collection of monasticism medieval plants (and seed bank), here are some of the selected plants:
